Automotive Guide Those Darn Speeding Tickets

So you're cruising down the freeway in your Porsche 911 Turbo. You've got the sun roof open and the breeze in your hair. You're stoked that it's Friday and the weekend lies ahead. All is ideal. But, then it happens. You hear this infuriating noise struggling to drown out your CD player. You shoot a quick glimpse in your rearview mirror, and your perfectly contented face turns to a loose scowl. We all know what that means. You're being pulled over. Not those maddening red and blue lights again. Possibly you switch lanes and hope he goes away, but it turns out he's in fact pursuing you. Ah, those fantastic speeding tickets. You were merely going 76 in a 65. Or perhaps you were merely vying to keep up with the flow of traffic. At this point, no matter what you do, don't say "thank you" after he passes you the ticket.

If there's merely one certainty in life, it's this; we all hate speeding tickets. I don't care who you are or how well-off you are, no one desires miserable speeding tickets. I can bring to mind the first time I received one. I was 19 years old, cruising home from college in my neat modest Mazda Miata. Those are enjoyable cars by the way. Unfortunately cops are constantly looking out for sports cars. Red and black appear to get it the worst. So I was pulled over and dreading the unavoidable speeding ticket. In spite of of how much I hoped, I still got stuck with it. Now what to do? Well, after conversing with my big brother concerning speeding tickets, I decided to show up in court and plead it out. Conclusively my court date arrived. I have to confess that I was truly nervous. Luckily the judge turned out to be somewhat benign. I pleaded with her and she said it will not go on my record. I ended up paying a ticket fee and court costs, but that was the end of it. I was pleased I showed up in court as opposed to merely sending in a payment. When it comes to speeding tickets, you plainly and simply don't need them. They cause your insurance to sky-rocket. That's not good for the old bank account.

How many speeding tickets have you acquired? With any luck not many. At any rate, you should try and have your ticket resolved as best you can. If you can prevent it going on your record, you're doing well. Of course the best path is to not get speeding tickets by sticking with the posted speed limit. Nonetheless, if you do receive a ticket and you feel as though it was incorrectly issued, I advocate pleading it out. Make the officer prove it was you speeding past his radar gun.
