Well, it is finally starting to happen; car buyers are now going to the dealership in their first question is what kind of gas mileage does this car get? In fact many car dealerships are noting those can have already put special stickers on those cars, which did the best gas mileage because that is what people are looking for. Car buyers are looking for fuel-efficient cars to hedge the gasoline pump prices.

Many small businesses and all American families are feeling the pressure of these high gasoline prices. Some SUV owners have been seen crying as they put their gas cap back on and drive out of the gas station. Many people with smaller cars say; well, I guess they should thought about before they bought it. In fact Toyota has captured 17 percent of the market share from both General Motors and Ford and this is one of the reasons for all the problems in the U.S. automaker industry.

Motorcycle sales are also up in the last two weeks and are expected to go even higher. Some motorcycle dealerships are now saying that 2006 will be their very best year. Most car dealerships are saying that the smaller cars are moving off the lot very fast and industry analyst are also talking;

“Still, an upward shift in gasoline prices has the potential to change buying habits over time, said Paul Taylor, chief economist for the National Automobile Dealers Association.

It appears that more and more customers are choosing four-cylinder inches over six cylinder engines or for large pickups six cylinder engines over eight cylinder engines. The dealership demand will indeed impact the choices of which cars are being built in 2006 and how many of each. Changes starting to take place and it appears that the days of the big SUV are numbered so, consider this in 2006.
